I love meeting old friends and reconnecting with people. Masrenny and i went to school together, nearly 20 years ago. Over the years, we we’re quite close once and have gone thru a lot together. I remember her mom – Aunty Shan who always came to school and supported Mas and the activities at school. She was so honestly involved with her daughters life, it was beautiful.

A few months ago i bumped into Aunty Shan at a corporate event i was shooting for her company Volume One, some catching up and a couple of more corporate shoots later, i was honoured when Aunty Shan asked me to handle the photography for Mas’ wedding.

Following that, over the next couple of weeks leading up to the wedding i came to realize that Aunty Shan was just as sincerely and honestly involved in Mas’ life. It was amazing to see her still giving her all and more for Mas’. The Power of a Mothers Love!

I recently filled up a form for a prestigious online directory, there were many questions but 1 has stuck in my mind:

"Please tell us what makes your business and photography outstanding?"

Being just a year in the business i’m not one to call myself outstanding as i believe humility is a virtue. So, thinking hard and long i decided to describe my unique business and photography values and attitude. What is uniquely me? Here’s a fairly short explanation i came up with:

‘I connect as much as possible with wedding couples, trying to define and connect with the uniqueness of each couple and their wedding. I concentrate on portraying the couple for who they are. I am very articulate and great at putting people at ease.

As a wedding photographer, i prepare meticulously and assist the couple in their preparations especially advising them on little things that may not have anything to do with photography directly but will beautify and smoothen their day which shall indirectly and ultimately make for a better experience and gorgeous pictures. I always listen and ask as many questions as possible, getting to know the couple and their families is top priority.

My wife Azua, as Studio Manager and Creative Consultant also provides unique, interesting ideas and helpful hints and tips, not to mention she always goes out of her way to help the bride and groom before and on their special day. Her help is invaluable to our business and both of our minds put together ensures all bases covered and some extra bases laid out for over and above creative ideas ready to be executed.

My photography style is creative photojournalism.  Being as unobtrusive as possible i try to capture the day as it unfolds, naturally and passionately. However, whenever possible adding some artistic, unique and even experimental elements. Being on top of my game, a lifelong learner ensures i’m always learning and perfecting new techniques and applying them to my shooting and post production.

Constantly evolving and improving, a unique style of creative love and joy is beginning to show!’
